A Shiwan polychrome-glazed pottery figure group of two scholars, modeled in the round, depicting two scholars standing in conversation beneath a gnarled tree. One figure is dressed in a flowing green robe with hands clasped respectfully, while the other, clad in a cream-colored robe with brown trim, holds an attribute before his chest. The figures stand upon a naturalistic rocky base accented with a vivid cobalt-blue stream, while the flourishing tree behind them is rendered in richly glazed emerald-green foliage.
