Note: McCorkle was a prolific painter of portraits, still lifes, landscapes, and figure studies. He attended the Art Center in Pasadena, graduating with honors in 1964. In the late 1960s, he continued his studies at the Thomas Leighton Art Studio in San Francisco. Following Thomas Leighton's death in 1976, McCorkle later taught figure drawing and painting courses at the Leighton studio.
