Frank Stella (1936-2024), Attributed to, oil on canvas. In this work, Stella constructs the composition through a series of vividly colored geometric squares, each nested within the next. The straight lines and sharp edges eliminate any trace of painterly gesture or texture, rejecting the expressive traditions of representational art. High-saturation hues-red, yellow, green, and blue-form striking contrasts, while the repetition of square forms and the alternating sequence of colors generate a rhythmic visual pulse and a sense of spatial expansion. The viewer's gaze is drawn toward the center, yet simultaneously set in motion by the vibrant optical tension of the composition.

Note: Frank Stella (1936-2024). This interplay of geometry and color embodies Stella's exploration of "color as an autonomous element." By detaching color from its descriptive role, he redefines painting as a self-sufficient visual system-one concerned not with depiction, but with structure, rhythm, and perception. The result is a pure, optical experience that epitomizes Stella's minimalist ethos: "What you see is what you see."
