Park Hyung Jin (Korean, b. 1990), Large Portrait "Jee Un" 2014, oil on linen, label affixed on the verso from Bernarducci Meisel Gallery.
Overall: 76.5"h x 44"w (194.31 x 111.76 cm)
Provenance: Bernarducci Meisel Gallery. Long Island private collection.
Hyung Jin stays far from Asian anime clichés, but his works are arguably Asian in the sense that they value spiritual experience over reality. As a global citizen and international artist, he transcends and merges the undercurrents of Western and Eastern artistic traditions in his unique vocabulary of form and texture.
