Amedeo Modigliani (1884–1920) was an Italian painter and sculptor best known for his stylized portraits and nudes, which are instantly recognizable by their elongated faces, necks, and figures, and almond-shaped eyes. Though he was not widely appreciated during his lifetime, Modigliani is now considered one of the most important artists of the early 20th century.
Amedeo Modigliani's artworks have achieved remarkable prices at auction, reflecting his enduring significance in the art world.

"Jeanne Hébuterne (au Foulard)" (1919)
Sold for $56.6 million, this portrait of Modigliani's muse and partner underscores the personal significance and appeal of his subject choices.
These auction results underscore the high esteem in which Modigliani's work is held, with collectors valuing both his unique artistic style and the emotional depth of his subjects.
